Nexor Welcomes Launch of UK Security and Resilience Industry Suppliers
Nexor, a provider of high grade security products and services to the military and government sectors, welcomed yesterday’s launch of the UK Security and Resilience Industry Suppliers Council (RISC) by John Reid, Home Secretary. Nexor is a founder member of RISC; Steve Kingan, chief executive officer, sits on the council.
Speaking at the Royal United Serviced Institute for Defence Studies (RUSI), John Reid described how, in times of “increased insecurity and global mobility”, mass migration, international crime and international terrorism must be effectively managed and countered where necessary. He welcomed RISC as “a powerful channel of communication between Government and markets in security and resilience”.
RISC is an alliance of trade associations, suppliers, academia and think tanks that offers a single voice and channel of communication on strategic issues affecting national security and resilience. RISC advises the government and the critical private sector on technology, capability and supply/demand issues related to national security and resilience.
The Council was established in 2006 with the full support of the UK Government as part of Project GaIN. RISC is the recognised and authoritative voice of UK organisations involved in supplying the national and international security and resilience markets. It will act on behalf of those organisations in concert with the government in the national interest of developing innovative, world class solutions for the UK and beyond.
Speaking after the launch, Steve Kingan commented: “This is a vital initiative for any company serious about security. Nexor has been committed to this industry for many years and fully intends to support the RISC programme. I am delighted that a UK SME is able to participate; I have no doubt that our innovation and R&D capability will make a strong contribution.”
