Nexor welcomes the Cabinet Office policy on Open Source, Open Standards and Re-Use
Nexor welcomes the Cabinet Office policy on Open Source, Open Standards and Re-Use. Since 1990, Nexor has made a leading contribution to the definition of a number of open source standards and has developed its software products to open system specifications. This approach has led to our technology being adapted to find considerable re-use across EU government and the military. Closed, proprietary systems significantly increase integration and interoperability costs, so migrating to open source and open standards will reduce our costs and those of our customers.
Head of Research and Technology at Nexor, Andrew Kays, was invited to join a panel at the ISSD Conference on 20th and 21st May to share his personal experiences and the business benefits of CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional) certification. The conference and the certification programme are run by (ISC)2. Andrew was one of the first people in the UK to qualify.
Nexor has recently received support and assistance from the University of Nottingham’s Environmental Technology Centre in developing a draft Environmental Policy which is specifically tailored to reflect Nexor’s business. The University provided information on what an environmental policy should contain and gave specific advice on developing a simple but effective framework on which performance can be monitored. Nexor is continuing to work on its Environmental Policy and is incorporating this into the wider context of a Corporate Responsibility Policy.
